Availability for Model 18 gear delayed until Friday, April 12th

Setup for another run of the Model 18 and Model 19 replacement gear is in still in progress. We had expected to make this available on Monday, 4/8 but the listing will not go live until Friday, 4/12.

After the setup is complete there will be a couple of runs made to increase availability and duration of the next listing. All items are tested and pre-packed before the listing is posted.

A long-overdue "Spring Cleaning" is under way for the blog and for the eBay listings. Additional photos are being added to listings to provide more details on the items sold. Photos will also be added to show examples of the sharpener models repairable by each particular item listed. A FAQ will also be made available to help answer some of the common questions related to repair and the service included with purchase of a replacement gear.

4/12 UPDATE - A run was just completed last night for this part and it will be available later today as soon as testing is complete.

  1. Any idea about when you are planing to make more model 17 gears? Just want to know when to watch ebay for them to come up for sale.

    1. I plan to start production up again in mid June. I'll post an entry for the ETA - thanks!

  2. I am interested in a Model 18 large gear - I discovered, today, the one of the teeth on the large gear has broken off. The pencil sharpener has been great, and I would like to continue using it.

    1. I keep the ebay listings 'live' by adding stock as more become available. If stock does run out, they are usually listed again within a week.

Due to a schedule conflict I am 'down' longer than normal for now. I will have more of these available in mid June. In addition to posting the next available ETA, I'll repost a direct link to the instructions from earlier blog posts.

    1. I typically will list 10 to 20 gears (or more if possible!) at a time. This gives me time to test and pack each batch before listing so they are ready to go at time of sale. I do update the quantities on hand for subsequent runs, but when none are available the listing is set up to end.
